The final competition of the European Ciro Project is already underway.

The final competition of the European Ciro Project will be held in Huelva from the 22nd to the 24th of June at the school centre IES Diego de Guzmán y Quesada.

Eighteen students guided by six teachers from three different international schools, will develop an innovative project based on reducing climate change and improving air quality in their city. They should defend in a debate why their projects are strategic and should be implemented in their cities.

The winner of the Ciro competition will receive 1st award 1000 €; 2nd award 500 €; 3rd award 200 € and, just for participating: each school will get 1 educational kit valued in 300€.

The aim of the Ciro Project is to promote knowledge, skills and capabilities on climate change, sustainability, renewable energies, energy storage systems (with emphasis on hydrogen technologies) and the final applications of these technologies.

It promotes the training of teachers and awareness of students between 14 and 17 years in these concepts. Its goal is to generate restlessness and proactivity (in students) for the improvement of air quality and the reduction of climate change either to pursue higher education in these subjects (university / professional training) or to apply it to their daily life, through practices that benefit sustainability.

Within this context, the Ciro competition takes action; during the year 2020, from January to June, teachers from the participant school centres of CIRO project will teach the contents developed to enhance the quality of these training. Each school centre will count with assistance of one expertise person from specialized companies, ARIEMA and CRES to support their activities.

The Ciro Project is made up of a multidisciplinary European consortium composed by school centres, companies and technological centres of 4 different countries. There are 3 school centres, two from Spain IES Diego de Guzman (Huelva) and Colegio Jesús Nazareno (Madrid), and another one from Germany, Städtisches Heriburg- Gymnasium.  Moreover, Cyber Coach Smart (United Kingdom) participates as a company specialized on digital didactic games, and the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES) in Greece and ARIEMA Energía y Medioambiente S.L. in Spain, as entities specialized on renewable energies and energy storage. ARIEMA Energía y Medioambiente S.L. is the leader of this project.

The Ciro Project has been endowed with a total budget of 237.582,00 € through ERASMUS+ Programme, and it will have a total duration of 30 months (2018-2021).
